<p>State office has birth and death records since January 1915 and marriage and divorce records since 1950 and 1962 respectively.  Earlier records are with county Probate Judge ( marriages) or Clerk of County Court (divorces).</p>
<p>Each of South Carolina&#8217;s 46 counties has a vital records office in the county public health department who can search for birth and death records.</p>
